This FAQ item will outline the advantages of joining this community and guide you through the steps of joining. It is simple and straightforward and will be done in a snap.

• Only community members can ask to be given author status so that they can contribute content on the site
• There may be some resources on the site that will be restricted to community members or to certain community members

Here's how to join:

1. At the bottom of the Login panel on the Help/FAQ Page, click on the option to Create an account. (Use the Forgotten your username/password options on the Login panel if you have already registered but forgotten your username or password.)
2. In the Registration form that opens, fill in the five fields -
   Name - First name and Family Name
   Username - this is the only name that will appear on your contributions on this community
   E-mail - this will not appear on the community but will be used to confirm your registration and communicate with you - take care to specify it accurately
   Password - it is worthwhile making this secure - find out more about strong passwords and check the strength of yours
   Verify Password - as you would expect
3. Complete the captcha field if one is shown - this checks you are not some pesty spam bot
4. Look for an email from the site asking you to click on an email link to confirm your registration - this checks that we have a valid and effective email address for you. If you do not appear to have received this confirmation email there are generally two causes:
   A. The confirmation email has been filtered by whatever spam filter you have in place either at your Internet Service Provider or on your local computer - you may need to enter the domain trumps.net.au into your spam filter's "friends" or "whitelist"
   B. The email address you entered is incorrect - you may need to start over if you cannot correct it
5. Once you have confirmed your registration, you are then right to log in as a community member!
6. If you should get a message to say that the username or email address has already been used, then, if this is you, use the Forgotten your username/password options on the Login panel, or if this is another user, choose a new username or password.
